Krishna Birth Story and Early Life: About Lord Krishna
Krishna Birth: Lord Krishna was born to Mata Devaki and Vasudeva of the Yadava clan. Devaki's brother was a tyrant named Kansa. At Devaki's wedding, according to Puranic legends, Kansa was told by fortune tellers that a child of Devaki would kill him. Kansa arranged to kill all of Devaki's children. When Krishna was born, Vasudeva secretly carried the infant Krishna away across Yamuna and exchanged him. When Kansa appeared to kill the newborn, the exchanged baby appeared as Durga, warning him that his death had arrived in his kingdom and then disappeared, according to the legends in the Puranas. Krishna grew up with Nanda and his wife Yasoda near modern day Mathura. Two of Krishna's siblings also survived, namely Balarama and Subhadra, according to these legends.

“Whenever, O descendant of Bharata, righteousness declines and unrighteousness prevails, I manifest Myself. For the protection of the righteous and the destruction of the wicked, and for the establishment of religion, I come into being from age to age.”
“However men try to reach me, I return their love with my love; whatever path they may travel, it leads to me in the end.”
“You are only entitled to the action, never to its fruits. Do not let the fruits of action be your motive, but do not attach yourself to nonaction.”
